Data Quality Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Quality Engineer to join our team at S&P Global. As a Data Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our new data platform, which supports various business segments.
You will work in tandem with the Data Engineering team to understand the platform's architecture and contribute to its continuous improvement by rigorously testing data integrity, workflows, and system resilience.
Your keen eye for detail and commitment to quality will drive the development of testing strategies, alignment with the Head of Technology, Product Owner, and IT Delivery Manager, and adherence to the project's roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test cases to verify the functionality and performance of software applications, with a specific focus on data testing.
- Conduct thorough data testing to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to data standards.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and data issues, and work closely with developers to resolve them.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and ensure testing meets the desired outcomes.
- Participate in the design and implementation of testing strategies and methodologies, specifically tailored to data testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years' experience in Data Testing.
- Proven experience as a Software Tester, with a strong emphasis on data testing.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and processes, specifically related to data testing.
- Proficient in SQL and data querying.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
