We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Duke Primary Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support to our medical and nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Take medical histories and record vital signs
- Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures
- Assist medical and nursing staff during examinations and procedures
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
- Perform basic laboratory tests in the clinic/office
- Take electrocardiograms, remove sutures/staples, and change sterile and non-sterile dressings
- Document patient records and promote patient/family understanding of educational content and involvement in the plan of care
- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
- 1-3 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA
- BLS required
