About the Role:

Duke University Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and disposing of contaminated supplies.
  • Assist medical and nursing staff with various tasks, such as arranging hospital admissions and handling billing and bookkeeping.
  • Ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly by performing routine administrative and patient care supportive duties.
  • Document and communicate pertinent information to patients and clinic staff.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred.
  • High school or GED graduation is required.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is required for Level II, and at least 3 years of experience is required for Level III.
