About the Role

Becton, Dickinson and Company is seeking a skilled Machinist Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating advanced machining equipment and software to produce high-quality mold components, fixturing, and lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate lathe, mill, drill press, CNC machine tools, and various grinders with precision and accuracy.
  • Program 3D CNC Mill tool paths for direct milling operations, ensuring optimal results.
  • Perform machining tasks necessary for component technology project development, adhering to strict tolerances and quality standards.
  • Plan and lay out work, making standard shop computations to ensure efficient production.
  • Select materials, parts, and equipment required for each assignment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work from 3D models, 2D drawings, blueprints, schematics, or verbal instructions to produce complex mechanisms, tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures, including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
  • Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certificate in Machining/CNC
  • 3-5 years directly related machining experience, with proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, and CNC equipment
  • 3D CAD/CAM skills/experience preferred
