Job Summary

The Open Door Health Center is seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a key member of our oral health services team, you will be responsible for assessing patient dental needs and delivering direct dental care and associated services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality dental care to patients, including routine treatment procedures and patient education.
  • Assess patient dental condition and needs, using screening procedures to include medical history review, x-rays, and dental charting.
  • Develop and implement individualized dental care plans, working closely with patients and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide perio therapy treatment as needed, and administer local anesthetic or nitrous oxide sedation as required.
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment.
  • Manage patient care areas, including preparation and maintenance of patient records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest oral health research, best practices, and technologies to provide evidence-based care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Diploma/degree in Dental Hygiene and current registration/license in Minnesota as a dental hygienist.
  • Proven ability to assess patient dental needs and deliver high-quality care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with a positive and professional attitude.
