Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tech III to join our team at Total Safety. As a key member of our safety-conscious team, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our clients.
Responsibilities:- Conduct industrial hygiene surveys to identify chemical and physical hazards, and other studies as appropriate to your level of expertise.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain instruments, including sampling pumps, calibrators, and direct reading instruments.
- Conduct safety inspections at client sites to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collect and record data on activities performed by workers being monitored, and maintain a daily log of activities related to project work.
- Prepare and submit reports, including data sheets, IH calculations, chain of custody forms, and sample preparation for shipment to laboratories.
- Create data tables and drawings for reports, and enter field data into databases or applications.
- Submit administrative paperwork, including timesheets, expense reports, and field reports, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist colleagues as needed to ensure the success of our team.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus ARSC Basic Orientation Plus and client-site specific safety orientation.
- Associate's degree in a science or technology-related field, such as industrial hygiene, engineering, industrial technology, environmental sciences, safety, biology, physics, or chemistry.
- Preferred training in radiation, asbestos, lead, or mold, and additional training may be required depending on client- or project-specific requirements.
- Background screening may require TWIC, NABSC, or other graded background programs, and drug and alcohol screening according to DISA, NASAP, or other corporate policies.
- Medical examination, including a standardized medical questionnaire, pulmonary function test, chest x-ray, audiometric exam, and respirator fit test.
- Valid driver's license and proficiency in the care and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
As a Tech III at Total Safety, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with possible exposure to operational hazards, including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water, and electrical hazards. You must be able to travel for extended periods and work in a team environment.
Reporting Relationships:You will be working under direct supervision, with specific instructions given on assignments or following written or verbal instructions and established procedures and standard practice to perform assigned tasks.
