Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) / Geotechnical department. As a key member of our team, you will work on rewarding projects throughout the southeastern United States, with access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.

As a Civil Engineer at AECOM, you will be responsible for leading mid- to large-size projects, providing technical input to studies and design, and approving and signing off on work. You will also present complex technical solutions to clients, perform quality control reviews, and participate in the development of technical proposals.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred, as is 5+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience.

Key qualifications include experience in Civil design, CCR or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to solid waste disposal, CCR management, dams and impoundments. Business Development and Client Relationship Management experience is also highly valued.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • Ability to travel within the Southeastern United States to visit team locations, client sites and regulatory agencies
  • As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to pass a drug-screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience
  • Project experience in Civil design, CCR or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to solid waste disposal, CCR management, dams and impoundments
  • Business Development and Client Relationship Management experience
  • Experience as a technical contributor on general civil and/or remediation projects
  • Ability to proactively assist in technical efforts and project team staff
  • Experience on large scale projects
  • Experience with storage tank, manufactured gas plant, renewable energy, landfill, and/or air projects
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
  • Construction 30 certification
  • Significant experience working in the capacity of a project manager and client contact
  • Experience and confidence to work independently to produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget
