Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Nurse to participate in the conduct of clinical research projects/studies involving various modalities of treatment for patients in the section. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with each study's protocol by providing thorough review and documentation at each subject study visit.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of study participants by interviewing and documenting medical history to determine compliance with eligibility requirements.
  • Perform medical tests, including vital signs, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms.
  • Administer investigational medications and perform patient assessments during clinic visits to determine presence of side effects; notify Principal Investigator of findings/issues.
  • Provide patient education and medical information to study patients to ensure understanding of proper medication dosage, administration, and disease treatment.
  • Document medical data in patient chart to capture protocol requirements.
  • Provide accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting to sponsors and institution.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
  • Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: Nursing experience, fundamental working knowledge of clinical research.
  • Preferred Competencies: Knowledge of patient care fundamentals, including aseptic principles and techniques. Ability to provide direct patient care in a professional and respectful manner. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to read documents or instruments. Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks with occasional interruptions. Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality while handling sensitive situations. Ability to solve problems by applying math or reasoning principles. Ability to adapt to changing working situations and work assignments.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
