This is an ongoing recruitment for Full and Part-Time roles on our Evening and Night Shifts.
Mass., Inc. is in search of several dedicated, professional, and caring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to oversee an assigned unit within our facility while promoting collaboration across various disciplines. LPNs at Mass., Inc. are tasked with delivering patient-centered care and support to our veteran residents. They are expected to adhere to and contribute to individualized care plans in line with nursing standards, policies, and procedures. The selected candidates will work both collaboratively and independently, ensuring clear and constructive communication with team members, patients, and their families.
Key Responsibilities (this list is a general overview and not exhaustive):
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to veteran residents by evaluating health conditions, responding to calls for assistance, and making observations during rounds.
- Implement nursing treatments, procedures, and care plans; monitor, identify, and address care needs, including medication administration and patient/family education.
- Assess and evaluate veteran health status; collaborate with supervising Registered Nurses (RNs) and medical staff for treatment options.
- Identify urgent or emergency care situations; seek assistance from the RN and/or medical staff and initiate necessary emergency interventions as directed.
- Work in conjunction with other resident services personnel to ensure adherence to individual care plans.
- Build positive relationships with veterans and their families to foster effective communication and learning as outlined in the treatment/teaching plan.
- Document incidents affecting veterans and refer to RN for follow-up and/or investigation.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and operational policies of Mass., Inc. while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and Joint Commission requirements.
- Pursue personal and professional development by attending training sessions, staying updated on healthcare trends, and participating in relevant committees.
- Proficient in computer usage as required for completing work assignments.
- We offer part-time and full-time benefited positions on our Evening (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm) and Night (11:15 pm - 7:15 am) shifts.
- Alternating weekend and holiday shifts are required.
- Note: This is a 24/7 long-term care facility, and staff may be required to work during nontraditional hours based on operational needs.
- Must hold a current, active license as a practical nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Ability to interact tactfully with others.
- Certification in dementia, hospice, or related fields.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with individuals, families, and team members.
- Strong attention to detail with readiness to respond appropriately when necessary.
- Capacity to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information discreetly.
- Proficient in computer skills for completing work assignments.
