Position Summary:
Flogistix, LP, a premier provider of atmospheric solutions with a focus on wellhead and VRU compression, is on the lookout for a skilled Field Service Engineer to enhance our dedicated team. The successful candidate will possess 3-5 years of practical experience in the upkeep and repair of natural gas compression systems, particularly with General Motors 4.3L and 5.7L Engines, along with expertise in Cummins 8.3 and 855 engines. Familiarity with additional engine types such as CAT is advantageous but not mandatory. The Field Service Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our wellhead and VRU compression systems, prioritizing both performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety protocols established by Flogistix and any specific safety regulations required at client sites, fostering a safety-oriented work culture.
- Assemble and construct equipment or mechanical components as per technical specifications.
- Monitor inventory on service vehicles and accurately account for parts used to maintain precise inventory levels.
- Ensure a tidy work environment, including proper maintenance of company vehicles and specialized tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities such as oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug changes, and tuning of CNG engines.
- Perform comprehensive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Refill fluids and components of engines and equipment as necessary.
- Apply lubricants to machinery components to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage complex repairs associated with the CNG fuel system, engine components, and vehicle systems.
- Inspect natural gas compression units and execute diagnostic tests to identify operational issues.
- Implement repairs aimed at maximizing reliability and efficiency to keep assigned units functioning effectively.
- Diagnose reported issues and provide timely solutions.
- Conduct emissions testing to verify compliance with local and federal emission standards.
- Address customer concerns regarding rental and purchased equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and report on any issues encountered.
- Engage in training sessions to remain informed about the latest advancements in compression technology.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment alongside colleagues, clients, management, and other departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
- Familiarity with various natural gas compression systems is essential.
- Occasional operation of small portable cranes or lifting devices may be required.
- Basic knowledge of multimeter usage for diagnosing electrical issues.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with automation controls are preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities with a knack for diagnosing operational issues.
- Excellent communication skills, encompassing written, verbal, and interpersonal interactions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team in fast-paced environments.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies; familiarity with AI is a plus.
- Reliability and dependability, with a commitment to punctuality across all shifts.
- Must demonstrate responsible driving habits and comply with all safety protocols set by Flogistix.
- 3-5 years of experience in reciprocating or screw compression is advantageous.
- Proficiency in General Motors 4.3L and 5.7L Engines; experience with Cummins 8.3 and 855 engines is a plus.
- Knowledge of 24vdc control panels and 4-20ma systems is preferred.
- A background in Process Technology or Instrumentation is desirable.
- Availability for occasional on-call work, which may include weekends and nights.
- This position is safety-sensitive.
- Frequent requirements to stand, sit, walk, kneel, stoop, handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional climbing or balancing may be necessary.
- Willingness to work outdoors.
- Daily travel in the field is expected, potentially up to 75% of the time or more.
