Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design efforts for roadway lighting, traffic signals, and ITS devices
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections of electrical systems
  • Attend client and contractor meetings and prepare meeting minutes
  • Assign tasks to and coordinate with junior level engineers, technicians, and administrative staff
  • Assist in preparing proposals, determining project schedules, cost estimates, and budget requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • 3-5+ years of experience in traffic signal, electrical systems, ITS, or highway lighting
  • PE license preferred
  • Previous design experience of roadway surveillance systems (CCTV, DMS, weather stations, weigh-in-motion sites, travel time systems, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience in leading electrical design efforts for agencies including NJDOT, NJTA, and/or PANYNJ projects is a plus
  • Familiarity with Visual and/or AGI lighting design software is preferred
  • Ideal candidate would have experience preparing technical and cost proposals for the electrical design components of various highway projects, as well as supervising junior engineers in highway lighting report preparation, lighting analysis, and lighting design
  • Must be familiar with MicroStation or AutoCAD
  • Valid Driver's License is required
