Position Overview:
This role is essential for overseeing the management and execution of a comprehensive agricultural program. The individual will be responsible for directly supervising crew leaders and farm workers engaged in various agricultural tasks. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, preparing detailed reports, ensuring the proper operation and upkeep of agricultural machinery, and executing additional related duties as required.


Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:


Basic Requirement:
Demonstrated experience (paid or unpaid), education, training, or a combination thereof that showcases the ability to comprehend and apply both written and verbal instructions, as well as effective communication skills.


General Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant agricultural work experience, with at least one (1) year in crop production and one (1) year in livestock management. Candidates should possess knowledge of planting, propagation, and harvesting practices, including crop rotation and soil conservation techniques, as well as the use of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. Familiarity with the identification and management of plant diseases, pests, and weeds is essential, along with an understanding of livestock care, including feeding, breeding, and health management.


Supervisory Experience:
Two (2) years of supervisory experience is required, which includes:

  1. Planning and directing the work of subordinates;
  2. Assigning and reviewing tasks;
  3. Developing work schedules and priorities;
  4. Training team members;
  5. Implementing disciplinary actions when necessary.

Substitutions Allowed:
Academic study in agriculture from an accredited institution may substitute for general experience on a specific basis. Additionally, completion of an agricultural curriculum leading to a diploma or certificate may also be considered for substitution.


Other Requirements:
Compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is mandatory.


Driver's License:
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
