Pastry Artisan

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at Malvern Buttery. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for producing high-quality artisan pastries and baked goods. You will work closely with our Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to quality standards set by the Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef
• Correctly scale ingredients using the metric system of weight (Kg/g)
• Follow written recipe directions as well as any verbal instructions
• Bake pastries to the correct internal temperature as well as correct visual coloring
• Ensure production schedules are met and timely
• Notify Chefs of low inventory immediately
• Keep a well-organized and clean workspace
• Uphold safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the bakery at all times

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-2 years professional baking experience
• Basic understanding of classic dough types, batter types, and large commercial equipment
• Ability to handle the physical demands of kitchen production, including lifting 50lb bags and heavy bowls, as well as standing for long periods
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• A passion for high-quality, handcrafted baked goods and attention to detail in every stage of production
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• A caring and self-motivated attitude
