Baker

Malvern Buttery is seeking a skilled Baker to join our team in producing high-quality artisan pastries and baked goods. As a Baker, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our daily fresh-baked items.

• Adhere to quality standards set by the Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef
• Work efficiently on a very early schedule, maintaining a high level of focus and productivity
• Ensure all baked goods meet the required internal temperature and visual coloring standards
• Follow written recipe directions and verbal instructions from senior staff
• Meet production schedules and deadlines in a timely manner
• Correctly scale ingredients using the metric system of weight (Kg/g)
• Notify senior staff of low inventory levels immediately
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards

• Minimum 1-2 years of professional baking experience
• Minimum 1-2 years of early morning work experience (2:30-4am start time)
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Basic understanding of classic dough types, batter types, and large commercial equipment
• Ability to handle the physical demands of kitchen production, including lifting 50lb bags and heavy bowls, as well as standing for long periods
• Ability to focus in a fast-paced, sometimes loud and busy environment
• A passion for high-quality, handcrafted baked goods and attention to detail in every stage of production
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Love for all things food and beverage
• A caring and self-motivated attitude
