United Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities in community settings for employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide transportation to and from employment, promoting independence and inclusion in the workforce.
  • Teach client job functions and specific task steps, with a focus on client independence and skill building.
  • Implement methods to teach increased skill building, facilitating communication and collaboration with client supervisors.
  • Facilitate personal relationships within the workplace, promoting natural supports with coworkers.
  • Encourage individuals to pursue their goals, making choices with employment pursuits.
  • Act as a role model for the individual and the employment community, providing personal care assistance as needed.
  • Keep individuals safe across all settings, following schedules created by the Program Administrator and Coordinator.
  • Act as an advocate for clients across all settings, utilizing a person's primary mode of communication.
  • Follow all support plans per Developmental Services policy, completing all trainings as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in the human services field preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
