We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical ICU team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Diagnosis: Collect and analyze patient data to determine actual and potential diagnoses or issues.
- Outcome Identification: Identify expected outcomes for individualized patient care plans.
- Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement plans of care that prescribe strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
- Coordination of Care: Coordinate care delivery and transitions in care.
- Health Teaching and Health Promotion: Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Evaluation: Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
- Ethics: Practice ethically and maintain confidentiality.
- Culturally Congruent Practice: Practice in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to achieve quality patient outcomes.
- Leadership: Demonstrate leadership skills and take initiative to improve patient care and the work environment.
- Education: Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Integrate evidence and research findings into practice to improve patient outcomes.
- Quality of Practice: Contribute to quality nursing practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Professional Practice Evaluation: Evaluate own and others' nursing practice to improve patient outcomes.
- Resource Utilization: Utilize resources effectively to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services.
- Environmental Health: Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- Experience: One year of acute care RN experience and telemetry skills required unless participating in the Critical Care Nurse Residency Program.
- Licensure: Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Clinical Specialty Certification: Highly encouraged.
The Registered Nurse will be required to stand for prolonged periods, walk, use sight, hearing, and touch. May be exposed to infectious diseases and physical, mental, and emotional illness as well as end-of-life conditions and death. Moderate stress and risk of injury from patient care.
