Electrical Engineer Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in our team's success, working with a diverse group of individuals in various markets to deliver advanced solutions that last.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop design approaches and concepts for projects, collaborating with senior design staff to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform specific engineering studies and design analyses using industry software, ensuring timely and budget-friendly results.
  • Oversee the preparation of drawings, ensuring accuracy and neatness of work, and evaluate the work of design colleagues, providing feedback and corrections as needed.
  • Attend meetings with owners, clients, or architects, and coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and municipalities to incorporate associated construction, code, and government requirements.
  • Assist in the development of the overall man-hour budget and work plans for the discipline team, ensuring alignment with the project schedule.
  • Provide input, feedback, and updates on project schedules, and plan work in accordance with the schedule, ensuring timely completion.
  • Responsible for performing studies, load calculations, and selecting equipment appropriate to the project design, and coordinating equipment and overall design space requirements with the architect and other disciplines.
  • Attend in-house project kick-off meetings and design meetings, and review work for technical accuracy and completeness prior to the final QA/QC review.
  • Communicate design requirements and answer questions from contractors and suppliers during the bid or construction phases, and conduct project job site visits during construction to monitor progress and observe installed construction.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals, and maintain detailed records of communications with clients, contractors, vendors, and team members.
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and/or developmental guidance of designers and EITs, and maintain a continued focus on keeping up with industry trends and changes through continued self-education and training.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college with four years of applicable experience in discipline design and analysis.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Revit experience is a must.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
