Project Manager - IT and Systems Integration

Far West Distributors Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee and manage critical IT projects, including the integration of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and the implementation of systems to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage assigned IT projects, including the implementation of new software systems like a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and its integration with the company's ERP system.
  • Ensure projects adhere to budget, schedule, and scope, while handling all phases to guarantee on-time completion.
  • Leverage experience in the food and/or dry dairy industry and EDI integration to address the unique challenges of the business.
  • Handle data management and migration, ensuring that data from various sources, such as Excel spreadsheets, is properly consolidated and integrated into new systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and external IT vendors or consultants, holding them accountable and ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Establish and implement project communication plans, providing regular status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvements and change management within the organization, effectively communicating the reasons behind changes to inspire buy-in from employees.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and confidence, making difficult decisions when necessary to hold individuals accountable.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in project management with a background in IT, system implementation, system support, and business analysis.
  • Expertise in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) integration and implementation, with a strong understanding of the underlying processes and data flows.
  • Proficiency in SQL database management and data manipulation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and recognize interdependencies between them.
  • Experience managing remote teams and external vendors to ensure project success.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead confidently and make decisive changes as needed.
