Job Summary

Bluefin Innovations is seeking a skilled SMT Circuit Board Assembly Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for hand soldering, assembling, and troubleshooting SMT circuit boards to create high-quality electrical/mechanical products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hand soldering SMT components under a microscope, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • Performing a variety of tasks, from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations, on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Determining methods and sequences of assembly operations where complete information is not readily available.
  • Using hand tools, power tools, calibration tools, and test equipment to assemble and test products.
  • Making continuity checks and conducting quality inspections on work in process and completed work.
  • Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Disassembling, modifying, reworking, reassembling, and testing experimental/prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Maintaining inventory accuracy and preparing logs and production records.
  • Assisting Assemblers as necessary to ensure successful job completion.
Requirements
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools, including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, soldering irons, etc.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and procedures, and make corrections and suggest improvements to documentation and procedures.
  • Ability to work with small parts and printed circuit boards.
  • Thorough understanding of troubleshooting, testing, and inspection techniques.
  • Able to perform basic soldering functions and use magnification or specialized devices.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent English language skills to communicate effectively with work cell technicians, other departments, and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of prior experience in assembly and SMT hand soldering.
  • Assembly experience: 5+ years.
