About the Job

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Henderson, North Carolina. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
  • Identify root causes of failures and perform repairs as required
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
