Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Mission Assurance to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Mission Assurance team, you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing mission/flight assurance plans for individual spacecraft flight hardware programs. Your expertise will be essential in addressing design, manufacturing, integration, and test activities in accordance with company and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and administer an effective Safety and Mission Assurance program in compliance with applicable customer contracts and guidelines.
  • Ensure contractual program requirements are flowed down internally and to suppliers, and verify compliance with customer contract, industry, and organizational requirements.
  • Review practices, procedures, and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and reduce risk to product quality.
  • Interpret customer technical and mission assurance requirements, ensuring integration to program plans, specifications, and product drawings.
  • Provide oversight in discrepancy review, failure investigations, and cause and corrective action determinations.
  • Lead root cause and problem-solving analyses, and represent Mission Assurance at various review boards.
  • Support tracking and reporting metrics, mission-specific risk issues, and develop and present internal and external Mission Assurance briefings.
  • Ensure Risk Management activities (dFMEA, pFMEA) are executed and maintained according to standards and procedures.
  • Communicate the impacts and execution of all program, division quality, and organizational requirements to all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM field.
  • 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI.
  • Able to read engineering documentation and inspect drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
  • Extensive knowledge base in Cause Analysis tools, such as Ishikawa, FMEA, DOE, KTA (Kepner Tregoe Analysis).
  • Previous experience managing elements of AS/ISO/CMMI certified internal and external organization.
  • Experience interfacing with DCMA and Aerospace representatives.
  • Control Account Management experience with Earned Value Management practices.
  • Familiarity with industry workmanship standards; NASA, MIL, NAS, IPC.
