Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. As a Registered Nurse in our SE division, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals with cancer and their families.

Responsibilities:

Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician. Maintain knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures and complete all chemotherapy charge forms. Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies. Demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, including problems and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, accesses implanted ports, and maintains central lines catheter devices. Administer all medications using correct medication product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique. Display appropriate technical skills for the administration of chemotherapy and medications, including venipuncture, central line access, and infusion devices. Program portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provide instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in the use of the pump at home. Document nursing assessments, patient teaching, and fluid and medication administration in the patient chart. Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician. Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.

Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Minimum two years nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.
