Position Overview

The CT Imaging Technologist is responsible for conducting computed tomography scans to generate detailed images of various body structures for diagnostic evaluation as instructed by the radiologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather relevant patient information and procedural details.
  • Confirm patient identity and validate physician orders.
  • Ensure all necessary screening protocols are completed before the patient enters the scanning area.
  • Assess and verify the patient's pregnancy status when applicable.
  • Provide clear explanations of the procedure to the patient.
  • Confirm patient consent and address any inquiries.
  • Analyze data during the assessment phase to determine optimal imaging parameters based on the diagnosis.
  • Evaluate patient preparation for the procedure and identify any contraindications.
  • Select appropriate shielding and immobilization tools.
  • Review patient records and physician orders to establish optimal scanning parameters for suspected conditions.
  • Administer contrast agents in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitor patients throughout the examination for any adverse reactions to contrast media.
  • Utilize sterile techniques for IV preparation when necessary.
  • Capture high-quality images during the scanning process.
  • Reformat images as needed to enhance anatomical or pathological visualization.
  • Transmit images to PACS for radiologist interpretation.
  • Document patient care, examination details, and medical history accurately.
  • Maintain equipment and workspace in optimal condition, performing daily quality control checks.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely completion of procedures.
  • Respond to emergency calls as per departmental protocols.
Qualifications

Required: Graduate of a JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technology Program recognized by ARRT. Minimum of six months of experience as a CT Technologist within the last two years or six months as a Staff Technologist. Strong leadership, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.

Preferred: Advanced level certification in CT with RT(CT) credentialing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Work Environment

This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including potential rotation of shifts and on-call duties. Travel between various locations may be necessary.
