POSITION SUMMARY: The Grocery Store Operations Manager oversees the daily functions of the grocery establishment, ensuring compliance with all policies, standards, security protocols, and regulations of FAIRVALUE, a division of ROC. This role includes the recruitment, training, and retention of the entire store workforce. The manager upholds FAIRVALUE's exemplary customer service standards and is responsible for labor scheduling, cash management, and inventory control. Additional responsibilities encompass receiving deliveries, maintaining sanitation and safety standards, overseeing store maintenance, and managing pricing and file updates. The position holds direct authority over Assistant Managers, Scan Analysts, department managers, and functional authority over all store personnel. Reports directly to the Retail Operations Manager.

WORK SCHEDULE: 50 hours per week

Requirements:

Knowledge and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with DSD/Scanning Operations.
  • Understanding of front-end operations.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years' experience in retail grocery management required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent customer interaction abilities.
  • Leadership, management, coaching, teaching, and employee motivation skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong mathematical analytical skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including point of sale systems.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities in operational, customer, and employee matters.
  • Customer service skills for effectively addressing customer concerns.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Capacity to thrive in a high-pressure, demanding environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High level of standing/walking.
  • Work environment in a convenience store setting.
  • Some local travel required for business-related errands.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Capability to unload merchandise from trucks and operate hydraulic equipment.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
