Tandem Systems Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain new releases of the Client operating system, as well as perform system maintenance and fixes.
  • Manage and maintain storage and local disks, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Implement and support vendor software products, working closely with our development and support teams.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and uptime.
  • Participate in IT projects, collaborating with project managers, developers, and support teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with technical, applications, and operations staff to ensure seamless operation of the Tandem system.
  • Manage RDF and Autosynch, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning to optimize system performance.
  • Perform complex OS upgrades, migrations, and refreshes of hardware and software.
  • Handle escalated and complex issues, providing expert-level support to our team and customers.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Tandem systems, including NS-4 and NS-8 hardware.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, and batch job management.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects.
