Position Summary

This Child Development Professional position at Gersh Autism involves supporting students on the autism spectrum in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with special needs and be able to adapt to changing circumstances.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $48,000 - $58,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in developing and implementing individualized education plans
  • Provide support to students with academic and behavioral challenges
  • Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
  • Collaborate with other professionals to create a comprehensive support system

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in a related field (e.g. special education, child development)
  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and move quickly in response to emergencies

Working Conditions:

  • Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Occasional before and after school work hours at the discretion of the Administrative staff
  • School / Classroom setting
