Job Summary

At Houston MRI & Diagnostic Imaging, we are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and producing high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Conduct Ultrasound (Sonography) procedures with precision and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Ensure Patient Safety and Comfort: Welcome and escort patients to the dressing room, explain procedures, and answer patient questions in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Verify Procedures and Maintain Accurate Records: Verify hardcopy/electronic physician orders and ensure correct procedures are being performed, maintaining accurate patient records in RIS and PACS.
  • Oversee Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Ensure proper handling of STAT exams, practice infectious control procedures, and maintain ULTRASOUND equipment, troubleshooting as needed.
  • Stock and Maintain Supplies: Track, order, and maintain ULTRASOUND-related medical supplies, as well as stock and maintain linens properly.
  • Administrative Support: Perform other duties as assigned, including administrative backup and support.
Requirements
  • Education and Skills: Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge, high school graduate, BS degree preferred, graduation from an approved school of Ultrasound Technology, ULTRASOUND Registry with ARRT (or equivalent), and current CPR certification.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and proficient in the use of office computer systems directly related to the job function.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and utilize hand and finger dexterity, continually required to talk or hear, and occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 50 pounds/up to 50 pounds.
