Job Summary

The MRI Technologist is a critical member of our team, responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and performing diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform high-quality diagnostic studies on all systems, adhering to specified protocols for routine, specialty, and research studies.
  2. Maintain the integrity of sterile fields, utilizing and understanding MRI coils, injectors, and monitors.
  3. Ensure accurate and complete documentation, including patient billing information, and practice coordinating and scanning techniques to optimize patient throughput and diagnosis.
  4. Demonstrate a working knowledge of PACS, computer systems, and hospital information systems, and be responsible for orienting, training, and monitoring new employees in all aspects of the equipment, MRI, Radiology, and the hospital.
  5. Assume on-call responsibilities as needed to ensure adequate department coverage.
  6. Troubleshoot MRI equipment, contact vendors as necessary, and maintain accurate records of equipment failure.
  7. Review patient medical information prior to imaging, assist with patient teaching, and monitor each patient to ensure quality care.
  8. Apply MR safety procedures in accordance with prescribed standards for individuals entering the magnetic field.
  9. Follow all safety rules and report accidents promptly.
Requirements:
  • High School or GED
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology
  • 1 year of MRI experience preferred
  • ARRT certification and licensure by TDH; MRI registry preferred; current CPR required
