Concrete Laborer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Laborer to join our team at Polis, Inc. as a key member of our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building forms, pouring concrete, and ensuring a high-quality finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formwork and Finishing: Design and build forms, set up and pour concrete, and apply finishes to achieve a durable and aesthetically pleasing result.
• Reinforcement and Support: Use wire mesh to reinforce concrete and ensure structural integrity.
• Quality Control: Monitor the material to ensure it hardens to a durable finish and meets job specifications.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 3-year apprenticeship under journeymen workers and 2,000 hours of hands-on experience.
• Physical Demands: Ability to perform strenuous tasks with your hands, kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials.
• Technical Skills: Ability to measure accurately and read specifications.

Work Environment:

Concrete workers may work in various weather conditions, including noisy, wet, cold, hot, dirty, windy, and dusty environments. They may also work irregular hours, including early mornings, weekends, shift work, and possibly be on call.
