Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform ultrasound procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort, privacy, and safety.
  • Document sonographer's impressions and relay findings to physicians.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects and contribute to the education and orientation of new staff members.
  • Meet deadlines, prioritize work, and work independently to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
Requirements:
  • Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care).
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred).
