Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images
  • Prepare patients for procedures by obtaining and recording patient history and consent forms
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety during procedures
  • Document sonographer's impressions and relay findings to physicians
  • Obtain and record images necessary to demonstrate normal and pathological findings
  • Participate in performance improvement projects and assist in achieving successful results in audits
  • Assist in the education and orientation of new staff members
Requirements
  • Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred)
  • Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound (preferred)
  • 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)
Working Conditions

Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. May be required to use physical restraints. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials. May have periods of constant interruptions.
