Enhance customer confidence through in-depth product knowledge and technical support related to the selection, usage, and installation of merchandise.

Handle sales counter operations, including order processing, special requests, and pricing inquiries.

Respond to customer phone calls in a courteous manner, providing accurate information and assistance.

Organize and display products on shelves or fixtures according to established guidelines.

Recommend new products to management based on customer feedback and preferences.

Accurately write sales and special orders using the point-of-sale system to ensure seamless processing by suppliers.

Participate in inventory management by assisting with cycle counts as scheduled by management.

Restock shelves with incoming merchandise as needed and maintain a tidy sales area to promote a positive shopping experience.

Inform regular customers about new product arrivals and upcoming promotions.

Maintain a clean and organized sales counter to foster a welcoming environment for customers.

Assist customers with loading purchased items as necessary.

Utilize company resources to report discrepancies in pricing or product information.

Safety and Security:

Understand and adhere to company security protocols and safety practices. Remain vigilant against potential theft or fraudulent activities and report any suspicious behavior to management.

Participate in regular safety meetings to stay informed about best practices.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in all responsibilities outlined above. Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a friendly demeanor are essential.

Problem-solving abilities and organizational skills are crucial, as is the capacity to communicate effectively via phone and email. A foundational knowledge of building materials and hardware products is required, with specific expertise in certain departments being advantageous.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs., reach items stored at heights, and safely navigate the store environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

This position is hourly and non-exempt from overtime. While there may be opportunities for advancement within the company, this role does not guarantee career progression.
