We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Project Accountant to become a vital part of our client's team.

The Project Accountant will handle the financial management of various roofing projects, ensuring precision in accounting records and delivering financial insights to project managers to enhance project outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in construction accounting, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial components of multiple roofing projects from start to finish.
  • Develop and assess project budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
  • Track project expenses, monitor costs, and ensure compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Conduct financial analysis and offer insights to project managers and senior leadership.
  • Prepare and manage project-related invoices, purchase orders, and payments to subcontractors.
  • Reconcile project accounts to guarantee the accuracy of financial documentation.
  • Work alongside project managers to establish and maintain project timelines and schedules.
  • Assist in generating financial reports and statements for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Perform regular audits of project financials to identify inconsistencies and suggest corrective measures.
  • Help prepare and submit financial documentation for project bids and proposals.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project accounting files and records.
  • Carry out additional related tasks as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • CPA or CPA Track is preferred.
  • 3-10 years of experience in project accounting, ideally within the construction sector.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with roofing industry practices and terminology is advantageous.
