The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Emergency Departments is a key member of the Northwestern Memorial Healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in emergency departments across the organization. This role requires a clinically competent, registered nurse who can prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care to acutely ill patients.
Key Responsibilities- Collects and analyzes data to identify expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery, and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
- Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and/or significant others, physicians, and ancillary staff to create a documented plan focused on outcomes and decisions related to the care and delivery of services.
- Participates in shared decision making, committee work, and unit projects.
- Evaluates and documents the patient's responses to nursing interventions in the health record and properly individualizes the plan of care based on the evaluation of findings.
- Utilizes the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
This role requires a registered nurse with a strong clinical background and excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
