Job Title: Culinary Program Director

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Culinary Program Director to lead our culinary education programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Manatee County. The successful candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement BGCA Healthy Eating curriculum, instruction materials, and evaluation tools for experiential culinary art courses;
  • Train club members, recognizing individual differences in the classroom and adapting instructional techniques accordingly;
  • Maintain culinary supply and equipment inventories;
  • Coordinate the ordering/purchasing of all ingredients for all programs;
  • Responsible for the results of all kitchen inspections;
  • Follow Safe Serve Standards and ensure the Teaching Kitchen is meeting Health Department standards;
  • Collaborate with Club leadership to ensure all standards are being maintained;
  • Maintains cleanliness of the Teaching Kitchen and the Kitchen-on-wheels, including the cleaning and sterilization of all kitchen surfaces, facilitating laundering of towels and aprons, maintaining the supply of cleaning supplies, and supervising and participating in the deep cleaning of the kitchen quarterly.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to pass a level 2 background check in order to work for BGCMC;
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull, or roll up to 40 pounds;
  • Able to roll and push a "Kitchen-on-Wheels" to and from a traditional club to other club locations;
  • Must be able to carry/transport groceries and small equipment and supplies from place of purchase to automobile, and from automobile to the Teaching Kitchen;
  • Must be able to tolerate changes in physical temperature related to exposure to refrigerator/freezer temperatures as well as oven temperatures;
  • Capable of prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing, walking, and speaking and occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching and working in front of PC monitor;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and to work in a fast-paced work environment, managing multiple simultaneous priorities;
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
