About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to join our Architecture team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a Senior Architect, you will play a key role in leading and managing architectural design projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote an interdisciplinary and collaborative design culture.
  • Assist in programming and planning, ensuring that projects meet the client's needs and expectations.
  • Develop and implement design concepts, working closely with project teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Manage and lead A/E design teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, building strong relationships and ensuring that their needs are met.
  • Coordinate engineering activities, ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with client requirements.
  • Develop and implement problem-solving strategies, ensuring that design solutions meet client needs.
  • Conduct code analysis and research, ensuring that projects comply with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Research and analyze materials and products, ensuring that they meet client requirements.
  • Write specifications, ensuring that they are clear and concise.
  • Prepare and coordinate construction documents, ensuring that they are accurate and complete.
  • Conduct site visits, ensuring that projects are progressing as planned.
  • Coordinate communication between clients and Colliers Engineering & Design, ensuring that all parties are informed and up-to-date.
  • Deliver clear and timely feedback to project teams, ensuring that they are aware of client needs and expectations.
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring that Colliers Engineering & Design's quality standards and design goals are met.
  • Participate in regular project-related meetings, ensuring that all parties are informed and up-to-date.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Integrate design and technical aspects of projects, ensuring that they meet client needs and expectations.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the service provided.
  • Ensure that all project records are accurate and complete, and that they are retained in accordance with company policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with design philosophies, building design concepts, design software, and delivery methods.
  • Understand and respond to the technical implications of design decisions.
  • Assist Project Managers in establishing scope of work and services for projects, including schedules and work plans.
  • Assist in client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules, and contracts.
  • Behave consistently with integrity, trust, and commitment.
  • Promote the office culture and studio mentorship within the office.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience serving governmental clients on civic and public works facilities.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience as required to maintain licensed architect status.
  • Architecture Licensure (NY) Required. NJ & CT a plus.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Ability to be client-facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, technical knowledge, coordination skills, and ability to build rapport with project teams and clients.
  • Willingness to mentor team members on technical and professional skills.
  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Versed in developing qualifications and fee proposals.
  • Experience with or strong interest in business development and interview activities.
  • Project management experience preferred in planning and executing design/construction projects.
  • Willing to travel on occasion to client sites and meetings, and conferences.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
