We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Surgical Technology Adjunct Faculty member to join our team at Metropolitan Community College. As a Surgical Technology Adjunct Faculty, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the operating room, providing high-quality instruction, and engaging in instruction-related activities.
Responsibilities- Teach and mentor students in the operating room, providing hands-on training and guidance.
- Develop and implement instructional materials, plans, and assessments to enhance student learning.
- Use a variety of proven methods of engagement and assessment to facilitate student mastery of learning outcomes.
- Provide students with constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback.
- Evaluate student learning and modify instructional methods and strategies as appropriate to meet diverse student needs.
- Meet classes as scheduled, notify the division chair with advanced notice if absent, and maintain accurate records of students' academic standing.
- Follow the published final exam schedule, maintain confidentiality of student records, and fulfill all requirements as stated in College policies and procedures.
- Implement course student learning outcome and institutional learning outcome assessment activities, and report assessment data in a timely manner.
- Valid Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification.
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology.
- Minimum two (2) years of recent experience in the operating room as Solo Scrub or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both.
