Sustainable Finance Analyst Internship
Program Summary
Our Global Markets division provides trading and sales services, alongside research, to institutional clients in various sectors including fixed-income, credit, currency, commodities, and equities. The scope of Global Markets encompasses both securities and derivative products across primary and secondary markets.
The Global Sustainable Finance Group (GSFG) executes the strategy established by the Sustainable Markets Committee and collaborates with Bank of America's diverse business lines to mobilize and scale capital deployment that aligns with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Our business focuses on two primary pillars:
- Environmental Transition: Tackle climate change and foster a circular economy through solutions in renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean transportation, water and sanitation, sustainable agriculture, and carbon capture and sequestration.
- Inclusive Development: Promote community development, affordable housing, healthcare, education, financial and digital inclusion, access to essential services, racial and gender equality, and environmental justice.
To effectively implement our comprehensive sustainable finance strategy and achieve our capital deployment goal of $1.5 trillion by 2030, our Sustainable Finance team focuses on three key areas:
- Asset Finance: Facilitate global asset financing, tax equity investments, and distribution solutions within Sustainable Finance.
- Innovative Structuring: Create innovative financing solutions within emerging sustainable asset classes and technologies.
- Strategy and Advisory: Guide clients in developing strategies to meet their sustainability objectives, including Net Zero and Carbon Neutrality, as well as Social and Inclusive Development. Formulate and execute the firm-wide sustainable finance strategy while monitoring real-time progress with clients in financing, investment, advisory, and distribution efforts.
Responsibilities
As a summer analyst, your duties may encompass:
- Supporting the structuring, pricing, modeling, and execution of transactions.
- Analyzing market trends and providing quantitative insights for clients.
- Conducting market and quantitative research analysis.
- Managing daily transaction requirements, including reconciliation and clearing services.
- Assisting in the development of new products and their market introduction.
- Educating clients on complex structures and technical products.
Candidate Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or a direct to Master's degree from an accredited institution, with a graduation timeframe between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Preferred minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Background in mathematics, engineering, statistics, or programming is advantageous.
- Proficient in Excel and modeling techniques.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a willingness to engage in challenging discussions.
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of generating complex solutions across various product platforms.
- Demonstrated interest in global financial markets.
- Highly motivated with a strong desire to excel.
