The Precision Machinist and Set-Up Specialist will collaborate within a production team dedicated to ultra-precision manufacturing of specific component families. This role emphasizes adherence to stringent quality standards and customer specifications throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate precision grinding machines, milling equipment, and laser marking tools, alongside necessary quality inspection instruments.
  • Interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and specifications to guide production processes.
  • Verify that all materials meet required specifications and retrieve necessary stock from designated areas.
  • Conduct complex machine setups and assist fellow operators with production challenges while providing training support.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machinery and edit programs as required, ensuring all tooling and equipment are available for setup.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards by performing visual inspections and dimensional verification using established guidelines.
  • Replace worn or damaged tooling as needed to maintain production efficiency.
  • Accurately track and record part counts before and after production runs.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Return excess materials to designated areas and manage the packing and preservation of finished parts.
  • Document all work performed in the database and report any shortages or machining issues to supervisory personnel.
  • Engage in additional machining and assembly tasks as required.
  • Collaborate with team members across various departments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S principles.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of experience in a machine shop or CNC machining environment; experience in medical or aerospace sectors is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Demonstrated urgency in task completion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend operation sheets, blueprints, and relevant documentation.
  • Proficiency in reading and editing CNC programs.
  • Experience with Swiss turning is a plus.
  • Technical training in CNC machining is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to walk long distances within the facility.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
