Huntsman Corporation is a global leader in the production of differentiated and specialty chemicals. We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team in Los Angeles, California.
Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor will be responsible for directing the activities of production associates and ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner. This includes developing and maintaining weekly production resource schedules, executing the schedule, and negotiating required changes with Planning.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the activities of production associates and ensure compliance with safety, quality, manufacturing, and housekeeping standards.
- Develop and maintain weekly production resource schedules and execute the schedule.
- Negotiate required changes with Planning and ensure smooth operation of production.
- Monitor and approve timesheets, time off benefit requests, overtime distribution, vacation schedules, and update ERP systems.
- Act as Incident Coordinator for initial response to plant emergencies and be responsible for the overall emergency response for the site during off shifts.
- Conduct cycle count and perform required adjustments to ensure accuracy of inventory.
- Issue safe work permits and hot work permits, and dispense, control, and manage chemicals of interest.
- Train and conduct performance reviews for production associates and provide coaching.
- Develop and maintain work and safe operations procedures, and facilitate good working relations among staff.
- Manage personnel issues for shift with guidance from Production Manager & Human Resources and up to and including disciplinary action.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with an AA degree in a technical field, 2-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience, and 3+ years of production experience. Strong leadership, administrative, organizational, and communication skills are required. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and SAP is a plus.
What We OfferHuntsman offers a competitive salary range of $90,000-120,000 per year, plus outstanding benefits, including competitive healthcare, dental, and vision, one additional week of paid time off, and a 401k plan with a 6% non-discretionary contribution and a 4% match.
