Position Overview:

As a Production Supervisor at Pivot Workforce, you will be instrumental in managing direct labor personnel, ensuring optimal work efficiency, assessing operational procedures, and understanding project specifications and blueprints. Your collaboration with engineering, procurement, operational project engineers, quality assurance, and project management will be vital to fulfilling project objectives. You will oversee the overall performance of the department concerning cost, quality, timelines, and safety in a project-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and support work teams in planning and executing a variety of assembly tasks.
  • Strategically assess resource needs based on backlog and anticipated workload.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate team members, promoting collaboration within the department.
  • Address employee performance issues promptly and in accordance with company policies, consulting Human Resources as necessary.
  • Schedule, assign, and oversee work orders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, operational project engineers, quality control, and project managers to meet project specifications.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within budget and timelines while upholding quality standards.
  • Rigorously follow redline and as-built drawing protocols.
  • Set objectives and standards for work units.

  • Ensure timely, safe, and quality movement of materials.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for ongoing departmental productivity enhancement. Train staff on new methods and practices.

  • Identify, recommend, and prioritize the acquisition of tools and capital equipment to improve departmental efficiency.
  • Ensure departmental budgets are adhered to, prioritizing expenses and assisting in budget preparation.
  • Enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
  • Review and update departmental training programs, ensuring compliance with training standards.
  • Execute tasks assigned by the Operations Manager with minimal oversight.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Robust analytical skills.
  • Effective coordination and oversight of multiple projects.
  • Ability to make decisions with initiative and creativity.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and effective quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Professional collaboration when interacting with superiors, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Education & Training:
  • Completion of management training programs.
  • Completion of safety training programs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in heavy mechanical work involving pumps, motors, process piping, valves, control valves, skid-based units, process skids, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, ISOs, and engineering assembly drawings.
  • Competence in performing shop mathematics.
  • 7-10 years of technical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Capability to effectively communicate issues and solutions with project engineers.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in an ISO-certified environment is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Involves occasional heavy lifting and significant equipment movement.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs.
  • Regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
  • Combination of office and shop environments.
  • Safety glasses required during tasks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, including lunch breaks, up to 6 days a week.
  • Adaptability to non-temperature-controlled environments.
  • Steel-toe boots are mandatory in the manufacturing facility.
