Position Overview:
The Import Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the company's objectives in accordance with established policies and procedures, particularly in the realm of Customs entry filings into the United States.
- Oversee workflows and resource management to guarantee the prompt and precise execution of operational tasks.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of Customs entry filings.
- Manage all ISF filings with efficiency and accuracy.
- Facilitate the swift delivery of cargo as required.
- Maintain compliance with all U.S. Customs regulations and other relevant authorities.
- Verify that all supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
- Coordinate the pickup of containers on behalf of clients or agents as necessary.
- Ensure proper registration of shipments within the Company System.
- Communicate with customs authorities when necessary.
- Track orders and relay pertinent information regarding arrival and dispatch to internal and external stakeholders.
- Address discrepancies promptly and maintain records of such discrepancies using the GTM System.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of operational experience in preparing, filing, and auditing customs entries and ISFs.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in filing and reporting under the Lacey Act, ADD/CVD, TSCA, and other PGAs.
- 1-3 years of experience coordinating with port and terminal operations.
- High school diploma required; some college education preferred.
- Familiarity with GTM - Global Trade Manager is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and a self-motivated attitude.
- Licensure as a Customs Broker is a plus.
Work Schedule:
Standard hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with a requirement for 100% in-office presence.
Travel Requirements:
Anticipated travel away from the home location is less than 10%.
Work Environment:
The role is primarily office-based, though occasional work on the manufacturing floor may be required. Employees may need to stand, walk, sit, use hands for various tasks, reach, climb stairs, and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. This is a full-time exempt position that may involve occasional weekend work.
