Job Summary

The Server provides exceptional food and beverage service to residents and guests, enhancing the customers' experience through quality interactions and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Assist in seating guests and providing them with menus
  • Communicate any specials or promotions
  • Fill glasses with ice water and answer any questions regarding the menu, including allergies or special requests
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and enter them in to the POS system
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all of the table's orders are prepared and delivered on time and together
  • Assemble food on tray; procure items from each station as necessary
  • Serve meal; place dishes by courses in front of each person; serve from the left of the person
  • Remove soiled dishes
  • Suggest and serve dessert, coffee, and after dinner drinks
  • Verify accuracy of process, state and federal taxes, tips and/or other charges on all bills
  • Present bills to guests
  • Handle all cash, credit card and resident charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures
  • Keep assigned tables, dining room and bus station clean and tidy
  • Advise supervisor of complaints as they occur
  • Perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and training sessions as required
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • High Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in restaurant or customer service role is preferred but not required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as required
  • Strong multitasking and time management abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure while complying with all relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including dietary restrictions and allergies
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating tips
