About the Role

The IT Applications Delivery Senior Manager is responsible for leading a team to deliver new functionality of one or more applications across business groups while ensuring improvements to existing systems. This role requires a strong business process understanding and the ability to think strategically. The successful candidate will have experience in Global / Regional SAP ECC 6 or S4/HANA projects and will be able to leverage the global scale of the IT delivery team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the application portfolio operates matching the business operational requirements and delivered on time at right cost
  • Leverage Global scale of the IT delivery team
  • Meet agreed SLA's for all application areas
  • Support the implementation of SAP and other strategic applications
  • Resource capacity planning including communication of constraints, alternative resource options, priorities and expected delivery dates of developments to business and Demand Managers / Business Relationship Managers
  • Manage escalations up to and including BG VP level as required
  • Oversee third party service providers, when required. Participate in partner selection, RFP's and SOW process for major projects within area of responsibility
  • Build and influence stakeholder networks to ensure that the IT organization is recognized as strategic business partner
  • Release management including developments and patches
  • Lead Strategic Applications long and short-term strategy development, in conjunction with Global Enterprise Architecture team
  • Lead, mentor, and manage staff to optimize performance through clear and effective communication to create a positive team environment
  • Set clear objectives challenging team-based target and goal expectations
  • Assess technical skills, identify training needs and opportunities, and ensure that required materials and tools are available for direct reports to perform their job responsibilities
  • Ensure the delivery of projects and enhancements within scope of responsibility; Actively communicate project status/ issues and ensure that business needs are understood and met
  • Develop policies and procedures to continuously improve the delivery of supported applications
  • Comply with all legal or statutory requirements such as SOX or BCP
  • Evaluate new features of the strategic applications supported by your teams and provide advice to Business Operations
  • Contribute to the evolutions of the various applications under the responsibility of the Global Applications Delivery team
  • Develop, communicate and manage metrics related to projects, application development and incident resolution
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years' experience in IT or equivalent with supervisory, project management, consulting, and business process reengineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experienced in Global / Regional SAP ECC 6 or S4/HANA projects, preferred
  • Expert knowledge of the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong business process understanding
  • Fluent English. Another language is advantageous
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Strong relationship building with all levels of stakeholders
  • Unstructured business demand and dealing with ambiguity
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Adept at assimilating new technologies
  • Effective team builder. Experience motivating cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues with both technical and non-technical people
  • Detail oriented, able to think 'big picture' and understand the levers that impact a business
  • Accountable for delivering complex projects on time
  • Effective organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Colloboration with all elements of Business and IT both local and Global
