Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at OSF HealthCare. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in complex tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cytology, with a Bachelor's degree in a related field and successful completion of a NAACLS accredited cytology program. Previous laboratory experience is also required, with a minimum of one year of experience in a cytology laboratory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Screening slides of clinical specimens for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions
  • Documenting findings and activities according to departmental terminology and protocols
  • Providing procedural support and performing specimen processing as needed
  • Assisting with the technical oversight and direction of routine cytology processing procedures

The successful candidate will possess excellent technical diagnostic expertise, attention to detail, and analytical skills. They will also have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
