About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plate Mounter to join our team at Multi-Color Corporation (formerly Fort Dearborn). As a Plate Mounter, you will be responsible for affixing plates to cylinders according to job ticket specifications at our flexographic label plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
  • Read job tickets carefully to ensure customer specifications are met
  • Use a computer to view production schedules and recognize opportunities for business efficiencies
  • Regularly move throughout the facility to mount plates for upcoming jobs
  • Gather necessary cylinders, tools, and tint sleeves according to job ticket instructions
  • Verify plate condition and number, cut plates to proper length, and mount plates according to job ticket instructions
  • Stage job orders on the counter according to specified press and schedule
  • Perform light maintenance of machinery and slitting blades as needed
  • Participate in department meetings, process improvement events, and training sessions
  • Work overtime as assigned and perform related duties

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Printshop experience helpful but not required
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with others
  • Ability to read and understand job tickets and measurements
  • Correctable to 20/20 vision and ability to differentiate colors
  • Ability to input data in the computer and work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with ability to stay focused and follow instructions
  • Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods
