Plate Mounter

We are seeking a skilled Plate Mounter to join our team at Multi-Color Corporation. As a Plate Mounter, you will be responsible for affixing plates to cylinders according to job specifications, ensuring high-quality production of flexographic labels.

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
• Read job tickets carefully to ensure customer specifications are met
• Operate equipment efficiently and effectively
• Regularly move throughout the facility to mount plates for upcoming jobs
• Gather necessary cylinders, tools, and tint sleeves per job ticket instructions
• Pull plates from the central file and verify their condition and number
• Cut plates to the proper length according to scale
• Verify the proper sticky back to use according to plate negatives envelope
• Mount plates according to job ticket instructions
• Stage job orders on the counter according to the specified press and in order of the current schedule
• Make plates when necessary
• Responsible for cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace
• Participate in department meetings, process improvement events, training, and safety program as scheduled
• Work overtime when needed and as assigned

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Printshop experience is helpful but not required
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form)
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements
• Ability to correct to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
• Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
• Ability to input data in the computer
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
• Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear
• Assertive and solution-focused
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
