Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced DRG Integrity Specialist to join our team at Accuity, a leading provider of clinical documentation solutions. As a valued member of our DRG Review Team, you will perform secondary level reviews of medical records and code assignments using your knowledge of Accuity technology and client systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and Validation: Simultaneously review pre-bill cases with physicians during work shifts to analyze and validate diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient services, ensuring accurate DRG assignment and compliance with federal regulations and client-specific guidelines.
  • Coding Analysis: Utilize Accuity technology to track coding errors, query opportunities, and other data collection as needed, demonstrating a broad knowledge of the compliance structure.
  • Research and Inquiries: Research, analyze, and respond to inquiries regarding compliance, inappropriate coding, and client denials, showcasing your ability to manage confidential information and use independent judgment.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Interact with Accuity physicians, peers, CDIS, and management regarding documentation, policies, procedures, and regulations, highlighting your strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Process Improvement: Assist senior-level staff in providing recommendations for process improvement to meet or exceed productivity and quality goals, ensuring operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 4 years of inpatient coding experience in a hospital facility coding setting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
  • Experience and knowledge in DRG reimbursement, including MS-DRG and APR-DRG.
  • A coding credential from AHIMA/AAPC (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, and/or CPC).
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
