Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Expert for Advanced Technologies to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. As a key member of our Directed Energy group, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware and systems for the Department of Defense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed designs and models of mechanical systems and components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other technologies.
  • Work with government, Leidos, and vendor machine shops to procure parts and components.
  • Contribute to project success by interfacing with the Leidos team and customers to develop creative and robust mechanical designs.
  • Resolve manufacturing and testing issues, providing innovative mechanical design and fabrication ideas.
  • Provide technical direction to internal functional engineering disciplines and vendors.
  • Develop and present reports and technical briefs to communicate complex technical concepts.

Requirements

  • BSME and 8-10+ years of prior relevant experience or MSME with 6+ years of prior experience.
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and communicate with machinists, technicians, engineers, and scientists.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SolidWorks.

About Our Team

Our Directed Energy team consists of approximately 100 scientists, engineers, technicians, drafters, fabricators, and support staff with backgrounds in advanced physics, electrical and mechanical engineering, electromagnetics, lasers, and high-power microwaves.
