Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Assist with quality assurance audits and maintain accurate records.
- Administer medications as ordered by physicians and document patient responses.
- Monitor patients receiving IV conscious sedation and adhere to hospital policies.
- Administer blood, blood components, hyperalimentation, and chemotherapy as required.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including those related to blood and blood components, hyperalimentation, and chemotherapy.
- Assist in operational functions, such as scheduling assignments and data collection.
- Maintain satisfactory communication and promote relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in professional development activities, including committee meetings, in-service programs, and certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Current LA RN license required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Membership in a professional organization encouraged.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift and transport patients, and perform other physical demands of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chemotherapy and complex drug administration experience.
- Strong physical assessment skills, laboratory interpretation, and clinical judgment.
- Knowledge of regulatory and reimbursement documentation requirements.
- Knowledge of pediatric physiology and disease processes.
- Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and provide safe care for pediatric patients.
